Sneak Peek: Mississippi Comes to Scotland on American Jukebox

Tune in Monday night at 10PM GMT/5PM EST for American Jukebox on Oban FM, where I’ll be playing Mississippi’s own Jimbo Mathus, along with Ian Siegal in anticipation of their Roots To The Core tour in the UK and the Netherlands this month. We’re especially looking forward to the shows at the Carlisle Blues Festival and The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh next week!

Join me as we recover from the Halloween weekend with a laid back evening of Americana music from the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Alejandro Escovedo, Shannon McNally, Jorma Kaukonen and more.

  1. Hi and thanks for the groovy tunes! I’m an expat at heart and would love to live in the western Highlands and Islands. I’ve visited that neck of the woods a few times, and spoke with the archaeology dept at Univ. Glasgow about attending, but may take some time to live in the area first. Thanks a million for the tunes and your blog. Oban is a wonderful little spot. I’m so envious. – I apologise (see I’m even typing like an expat) for rambling on a bit, but I really am passionate about the highlands and islands. I was first to visit Iona Abbey the morning I visited and got a behind the scenes tour of artifacts and preservation. It’s such a magical place. Once again, many thanks.
    Cheers from Arkansas!

    1. Thanks Jayson! I love Scotland and especially the Highlands. It’s definitely an archaeologist’s dream and an outdoor lover’s dream- and I think the three to four months of perfect 70 degree weather is pretty much worth the long months of rainy cold! I took my Mom to Iona when she visited in summer, and you are so right-what a magical place. The people here are so welcoming and helpful that I encourage folks to come over to try to live if that is their dream. Good luck and go for it- and meanwhile, hope all is well in the Natural State!
