There are lots of ways to get out and enjoy the West Coast of Scotland, but to our mind, one of the best is to explore it from the water. After all, that’s how people got around here for millennia, when roads were non-existent or difficult to manoeuvre. Even today, it’s often more efficient to travel by boat than by road! And there’s no better way to discover Oban’s spectacular wildlife, fantastic castles and, of course, the plethora of charming islands that surrounds it.
In my latest blog for Oban and Lorn Tourism Alliance, I talk to Struan Smith of Coastal Connection, who runs the service with his twin brother, Cameron. They just happen to be my neighbours, and both are super nice guys, so I can highly recommend them if you want to explore the Oban area by boat, take an island hop or hire them for a special occasion.
